On Saturday, January 28th, St. Martin’s Lutheran School’s Robotics team competed in the First LEGO League, Battle of the Bay Qualifier at Anne Arundel Community College. Sixteen teams built and programmed their own LEGO robot and prepared an innovative project that focused on human interactions with animals. They competed as a first year team, made up of all rookie members and coaches. There, they were evaluated in four areas: a research project, First LEGO League core values, robot design and autonomous game play. Upsetting many seasoned teams, the Legitabuilders were awarded the Champions Trophy.

Because of their hard work, they will advance to States on February 25th at UMBC.

By unanimous vote, Peter Porzillo was named MVP for his outstanding contributions to the team. Way to go Legitabuilders!!!

Many thanks to Keya Belt-Robinson and Tom Barnhill for their outstanding coaching.
